Sovereign Race Totems in stormy AG Driedaagse Bruges-De Panne

21.10.2020

This years’ AG Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne cycling classic was characterized by stormy weather. Rain and strong wind forced the competition jury to shorten the very tough race by 14 kilometers. The peloton quickly broke into several pieces during the race. Mathieu Van der Poel was also allowed to experience it firsthand by ending up in a canal after a strong gust of wind. End of the game for the Dutch champion of Alpecin-Fenix.

Amidst all the turmoil, 12 BOPLAN® Race Totems were set up on the course as sovereign, serene safety beacons on pedestrian refuge islands, road narrowings and traffic islands. The 2m40 high Race Totems, clearly visible and audible from a distance, can be weighted in a simple way, making it possible to use them in stormy conditions. In addition, 50 impact-absorbing BOPLAN® Race Bumpers were used to protect the riders from colliding with non-removable posts and other obstacles.
